AI data use

How Alynd uses AI

Alynd uses AI in three places: the Lyra career assistant, the Auron interview coach, and the CV import parser. This page explains exactly what each feature sends to AI services, why, and what limits apply.

How AI fits into the Service

AI Features in Alynd are tools for drafting and preparation — they help you produce content faster, but they do not operate without your involvement. Every change generated by AI is shown to you as a proposal before it is saved. You decide what to apply, edit, or discard. Nothing is written to your account automatically.

AI Features are also opt-in by action. They run only when you actively use Lyra, Auron, or the CV import tool. All other parts of the Service — manual editing, the CV Studio, PDF export — operate without any data being sent to AI processors.

Lyra — career data assistant

Lyra helps you populate, edit, label, and tailor your career records using natural language. When you send a message to Lyra, the Service sends the following to OpenAI's API:

  • The message you typed.
  • Relevant excerpts of your existing career records needed to complete the request — for example, your work history when you ask Lyra to tag skills, or a specific job record when you ask Lyra to expand a responsibility.
  • The section of the application you are currently in, so Lyra can scope its suggestions appropriately.
  • Recent conversation history from the current Lyra session.

Lyra does not send your password, payment details, or data from sections of your account unrelated to your request. If your request involves a specific record or section, Lyra is designed to confine its suggestions to that scope rather than producing broader rewrites you did not ask for.

Auron — interview coach

Auron is a conversational AI coach that helps you prepare for interviews. It can be used with typed input or voice input.

If you use voice input, your audio recording is sent to Deepgram's API for transcription. The resulting text transcript is used by Auron in place of typed input. Your audio is processed in real time and is not stored by Alynd after transcription.

During an Auron session, the following is sent to OpenAI's API:

  • Your transcribed speech or typed messages.
  • Relevant career context from your records, used to personalise coaching responses to your background.
  • Conversation history from the current session, so Auron can give coherent follow-up responses.

CV import parser

When you upload a CV file to import your work history, the text extracted from that file is sent to OpenAI's API. OpenAI identifies structured career data — employers, dates, responsibilities, qualifications — which is returned as a set of proposed records for your review. You can accept, edit, or discard each proposed record individually. Nothing from the import is written to your account until you confirm it.

Do OpenAI or Deepgram train on this data?

Under OpenAI's API data usage terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models by default. This applies to all data sent by Alynd on your behalf. Deepgram similarly does not use API-submitted audio to train its models under standard API terms.

Both providers operate under data processing agreements with Alynd. For full details, see OpenAI's privacy policy and Deepgram's privacy policy.

Does Alynd train its own models on your data?

No. Alynd does not use your personal data, career records, CV content, or AI interaction history to train any AI model.

Important limitations of AI Features

AI-generated output is useful as a starting point, but it is not a reliable source of fact. Before using any AI-generated content externally — in a CV, job application, or interview — you should verify the following:

  • Dates of employment, education, and certifications.
  • Metrics, percentages, and quantified claims.
  • Employer names, job titles, and locations.
  • Qualification names, awarding bodies, and grades.
  • Any statement that could be verified by a recruiter or background check provider.

AI Features must not be used to fabricate credentials, employment history, education records, certifications, references, or statements of eligibility. The Service is for organising and presenting what is genuinely true about your career — not for inventing it.
